It is my honour to serve as Chairperson of the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC). Since its formation in 1971 as the International Companies Division of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, ABIC has been the voice of Bermuda’s international business sector. In 2001, ABIC incorporated as an Independent organization to better serve our members, while continuing to maintain a close partnership with the Chamber. All ABIC members automatically receive membership to the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening this important relationship.
Today, ABIC represents more than 130 international companies physically located in Bermuda. These companies collectively employ the vast majority of personnel in the international business sector, which is a cornerstone of Bermuda’s economy.
Our mission is to support and advocate for a strong, fair, and sustainable business environment that benefits both the international business sector and the Bermuda community. Through partnerships with regulatory bodies, government, and professional organizations ABIC works to ensure that Bermuda remains the premier business domicile of choice.
In addition to our advocacy work ABIC is proud to administer the ABIC Education Awards, one of Bermuda’s longest-running scholarship programs. Since its inception over 48 years ago, this initiative has provided scholarships to more than 700 Bermudian students, enabling them to pursue higher education abroad, often in fields related to international business. These efforts underscore our commitment to developing local talent and contributing to Bermuda’s future success.

ABIC also leads initiatives to inform and engage the Bermudian community about the contributions international businesses make to the welfare and development of the island. Our members are dedicated to ensuring that Bermuda remains a vibrant hub for international business while providing opportunities and benefits to Bermudians.
As we look to the future, ABIC’s vision remains steadfast: to advocate for our members, promote innovation, attract and retain top talent, and foster collaboration with stakeholders to ensure Bermuda remains resilient and competitive in an evolving global economy.
If you are not yet a member, we invite you to join us in shaping Bermuda’s future. If you are a member, we encourage you to share your views and work with us to amplify the voice of international business in Bermuda.
