ABIC Members Urged To Support Post-Hurricane Caribbean Relief Efforts

The international companies of Bermuda are being urged by the Government and by ABIC executives to make a coordinated effort in their support of Caribbean islands in crisis following Hurricane Ivan and more recent storms.

During the Premier’s special meeting on the Caribbean relief effort held on Friday, September 17, international companies were offered Government assistance with the temporary relocation of the (principally) Cayman counterparts of some Bermuda-based captive, management and other service companies while their country’s infrastructure is restored. The Government agreed to expedite applications for company licences and work permits, and will return the fees paid as a contribution to the recovery efforts.

International Companies have been encouraged to make donations to “The Hurricane Ivan Appeal” at any of the following bank accounts:

Capital G #35760

Bank of Bermuda #701-19842

Butterfield Bank #20-006-060-663859-200

Additionally, we have all been encouraged to support: the Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Churches through donations of money, NEW or nearly new clothing; good and tasty food which will be sent to the relevant countries.
