ABIC´s Survey into the Sustainability of International Business in Bermuda – Results

Dear ABIC member,

Attached are the results of the survey conducted by ABIC into the sustainability of international business in Bermuda – a description of these results will be released to the public at a news conference this morning. I apologise for the delay in releasing the survey results but we had a few issues to deal with prior to finalisation.

As you will recall, PricewaterhouseCoopers administered this online survey and those participating in the survey were assured that their responses would be completely confidential and I can assure you that there is no way we could match the responses to the respondents.

The survey sought to ascertain the views of international business leaders and employees on their perceptions of the strengths and weaknesses of international business in Bermuda, and their perceptions of Bermuda as a domicile for international business looking ahead. In addition we received detailed information on the contributions by ABIC members to the economy. The results make fascinating reading, and offer ABIC members a valuable tool to use in business planning.

In addition, the survey is so relevant to current issues in the community that we fully intend to make this material available for public use. We will be posting the results on our website next week.

You will have your own comments and interpretations of the information, and a specially formed committee of the ABIC Executive will be soliciting your feedback in the near future. We will also keep you fully informed about future plans for the utilisation of the information in the survey in improving how we conduct our business in Bermuda.

Thank you so much for your contribution to this research. I believe it will be helpful to us all.

Yours truly,

David Ezekiel
Chairman
