The Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) is pleased to announce that it has revamped the Education Awards Scheme (formerly known as ICEA) which has for the past 26 years provided scholarships to Bermudian students as a means of assisting them to achieve their educational aspirations.
The ABIC Scholarship is paid in two annual installments and has been increased from $10,000 to $15,000 pa for students commencing their college education in September 2005. (Note – the increase does not apply to second year renewals to students with a current ICEA Award). The Scholarship will continue to be available to students in both the public and the private school sector.
In addition, students wishing to apply for the Scholarship can now obtain the application online by visiting the ABIC web site at www.abic.bm and clicking on the “Education” side bar. Full details of the scheme can be found on the web site and any queries with the application process should be addressed to Fiona Lines at 295-8932
David Ezekiel, Chairman of ABIC, said that the decision to increase the amount of the award reflects the continued commitment on behalf of ABIC’s membership to ensure young Bermudians are given every opportunity to obtain the academic qualifications, and all round education, which will enable them to become key contributors to the island’s ongoing success and prosperity in the future.
ABIC, the voice of international business, represents more than 130 international companies incorporated in Bermuda.
